Zenith Jet created a stir in the industry last year when it debuted its first “bottom up” business aviation forecast. And it didn’t pull any punches in its second annual bizjet forecast, a detailed 40-page report released last Wednesday that predicts 11,103 business jets worth $240 billion will be delivered over the next 10 years, with a peak in 2016 and trough in 2018.

The 11th edition of the annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (Ebace) is set to open on Tuesday in Geneva. Joint organizers EBAA and NBAA expect the event to be 16 percent larger than last year’s and, in terms of the area of booked exhibit space, it could even be the biggest yet with almost 500 exhibitors signed to set up shop at Geneva’s Palexpo center.

The first production-conforming Nextant 400XT will make its public debut this month at Ebace. According to Nextant, the 400XT is a remanufactured Beechjet 400A/Hawker 400XP with Williams FJ44-3AP engines, Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics and a zero-timed airframe complete with new paint and interior.

Hawker Beechcraft’s King Air 250 made its public debut last month at the Sun ’n’ Fun International Fly-In in Lakeland, Fla. The $5.79 million turboprop twin, a replacement for the King Air 200GT, was unveiled at the NBAA Convention in October.

The Shanghai International Business Aviation Show, hosted by the Shanghai Association for Science & Technology and Shanghai Society of Aeronautics, is making its debut this month. The new event, which is intended to be an annual show, is being held at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport Business Aviation Center from April 13 to 15.

The Hawker Beechcraft King Air 250 made its public debut today at the Sun ‘’n’ Fun International Fly-In and Expo in Lakeland, Fla. The upgraded turboprop twin is part of the company’s largest-ever display at the annual gathering, which also features a Premier IA, King Air 350i, King Air C90GTx, Baron G58 and Bonanza G36. The show runs through Sunday.

A ceremony was held last month at the Naval Air Station at Brunswick, Maine to celebrate the “approval of the public benefit conveyance of the property to the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority.” This event marks the official transfer of the former military base and its 990 acres of runways, hangars, ramps and other facilities to civilian use.
