PremiAir, the operator of the London Heliport (also known as Battersea), is to open a new passenger terminal “this spring.” It will replace a 50-year-old building that is to be demolished. The increased ramp space will provide greater capacity at peak times. The new facilities were formally handed over by the builder, Weston Homes, on February 11.

ThyssenKrupp has merged Apollo Metals and Aviation Metals into its aerospace supply chain management business, thus giving it the capacity to offer global materials services ranging from “just-in-time delivery of processed metals” to “finished parts kitting,” the company said. Newly named ThyssenKrupp Aerospace employs 1,000 people at 30 service centers across the world.

Following a “long and successful” relationship between the two companies, the von Essen Group acquired UK business aviation charter operator PremiAir Aviation Group last month. PremiAir already manages von Essen’s helicopter and business jet fleet, as well as London’s only commercial heliport at Battersea, which von Essen purchased for about $95 million in February.
