The prolific growth of the Middle East market for business aviation is expected to be very evident at the second Middle East Business Aviation (MEBA) conference and exhibition later this year. Organizers predict the three-day event, to be staged at Dubai’s Airport Expo Center November 16 to 18, will represent a more than 60-percent increase on the scale of the first MEBA conference, held in January 2007.

The operations committee of Europe’s Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) is pushing to get its JAR OPS 2 and 4 operating requirements adopted before the JAA is replaced by the new European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) is set to continue its seemingly relentless growth when it reconvenes in Geneva’s Palais d’Expositions (Palexpo) from May 20 to 22. High on the 2008 conference agenda are serious concerns about access to airports and to the U.S. generally, as well as pending new security requirements and possible environmental restrictions.

EBAA and NBAA are calling for nominations for the 2008 European Business Aviation Award, which will be presented at EBACE next month.
