All production Beech King Air 350s and B200s are now being equipped at the factory with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics in a configuration that is nearly identical to the cockpit in the Beech Premier I entry-level business jet and being offered at no increase in aircraft price.

Universal Avionics last month said it received an STC allowing installations of the company’s line of WAAS-capable FMS units in the Bombardier Challenger 600, 601 and 601-3R. Universal’s line of WAAS-ready flight management systems includes the UNS-1Lw, UNS-1Ew, UNS-1Espw and UNS-1Fw.

In 2005 Sikorsky selected Thales’ TopDeck avionics suite to equip the S-76D. CMC Electronics is displaying its TacView portable mission display for the first time, here at the Singapore Airshow. In October 2007 the U.S. Air Force chose TacView was chosen for its AC-130 gunships. Measuring five by seven inches, the touch-sensitive display can serve many functions, including targeting imagery, moving maps, checklists and approach charts. It is small enough to mount in virtually any cockpit, and it has a knee-pad option.

Thales is developing the Superjet 100 avionics suite under a $120 million contract signed in 2005. The agreement covers the specification, design, validation and integration of the complete suite through certification, plus the first 50 shipsets of hardware.

The Thales engineering team in Toulouse is developing a new flight deck for the -600 series ATR family, featuring five six- by eight-inch LCD displays and a configuration that is generally lighter in terms of hardware. At the same time, to keep the price down, the French electronics group has made some high-technology functions optional.

French avionics maker Thales is in Toulouse developing an all-new flight deck for the ATR -600 series–the newly launched pair of upgrades to the now Honeywell-equipped ATR 42-500 and 72-500 regional turboprops. The new avionics suite features five 6- by 8-inch LCD displays and overall lighter hardware.
