Jeppesen (Booth 1351) has teamed up with Honeywell to develop what it claims is the first integrated navigation data service (INDS) data manager application for the iPad. It will be available later in the summer, initially for operators of the Pilatus PC-12 NG with the Honeywell Primus Apex integrated flight deck and Aspen Avionics CG100P connected panel. The INDS solution greatly simplifies the update process by wirelessly uploading or downloading critical Jeppesen and Honeywell flight data to the onboard avionics.

Fast-growing flight planning and support group Jetex Flight Support has forged a new alliance with Honeywell. At the EBACE show yesterday, the companies signed an agreement to jointly offer their flight-planning, aircraft datalink, flight-following and international trip support services.

Aviation services provider Jetex is attending the annual NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference this week in San Antonio, Texas, along with the UK’s London Oxford Airport to announce that Jetex has been selected as the airport’s preferred flight-planning partner. It’s a simple concept: if you can flight plan a higher altitude to use during an overwater emergency, then you might not need as much extra fuel to reach an alternate airport. Most airlines and business jet operators flight plan for an emergency altitude of 10,000 feet, because supplemental oxygen isn’t needed at that altitude, when flying from the equal-time point to an alternate airport.
