FOKKER F28-100, Manchester, UK, APRIL 6, 2002–A misunderstanding of the flight manual resulted in damage to the horizontal stabilizer tip and leading edge of a Fokker F28 Mark 0100 (G-UKFI) at Manchester Airport. There were no injuries to those aboard, including the ATP-rated captain and his copilot.

The Transportation Security Administration’s revised final Private Charter Standard Security Program (PCSSP) released on New Year’s Eve removes the Global Express from inclusion in passenger and baggage screening requirements. At the same time, the revised program adds a minimum seating configuration that expands coverage to aircraft that wouldn’t have been covered solely under a weight determination.

Fokker F28-MK1000, Chachapoyas, Peru, Jan. 9, 2003–The Fokker F28 twin jet, Peruvian registration OB-1396, was destroyed when it hit mountainous terrain at approximately 8:43 a.m. EST during approach to the Chachapoyas Airport (SPPY) in Peru. The flight originated at Chicklayo (SPHI) at approximately 7:30 a.m.
