Aviation fuels supplier Delk's Valley Oil has formed the Paragon Aviation Group of FBOs, which it says will offer members leveraged buying power on services. Open to independent FBOs as well as small chains, the new group will require prospective members to undergo a comprehensive audit to ensure the quality of its membership.

Chase Larabee, creator of the AllFBO Web site, has added a new Web-based platform called Pilotaway.com that allows pilots and dispatchers to make reservations with any FBO in the U.S. While AllFBO was targeted toward FBOs, Pilotaway is for FBO users and will be supported by advertising so users wonít have to pay for it. FBOs will be able to pay for premium listings and services.

Landmark Aviation has added another FBO to its network after purchasing the assets of DB Aviation at Waukegan Regional Airport in Waukegan, Ill. The purchase brings the Landmark chain to 41 FBOs. “DB Aviation will be a great addition to our network, and will expand our presence in the Midwest,” said Landmark president and CEO Dan Bucaro.

Ross Aviation, a nationwide FBO chain, has acquired the assets of an FBO formerly operated by Ronson Aviation at Trenton Mercer Airport in West Trenton, N.J. The FBO–which for now will continue to be known as Ronson Aviation–is the 14th location in the Ross network.

ExecuJet Europe’s new VIP customer lounge is now open and shares design features with the company’s Berlin-Schönefeld and London City Airport FBO lounges. Furnishings and the design were provided by Swiss design firm deSede.

The Van Nuys, Calif., Castle & Cooke base partnered with The Hiller Group to become a dealer for Chevron aviation fuel. Castle & Cook has been based at Van Nuys since 1981 and offers more than 120,000 sq ft of office and hangar space. More than 65 jets are based at the Castle & Cooke Van Nuys FBO, which in 2009 signed a 30-year lease with airport owner Los Angeles World Airports and gained full FBO rights.

Spanish FBO group Assistair Business Aviation Handling saw 10-percent growth in traffic levels in the first six months, compared with the same period last year. The company has five bases–at Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Valencia, Ibiza and Gerona. Assistair's busiest period came in June when Valencia staged the Formula One European Grand Prix car race.

Argus launched a new Web-based aircraft tracking system for FBOs last month. Dubbed TraqPak FBO, the new product merges real-time flight activity data from the company’s FlightView product, which shows all IFR flights in the U.S., and owner/operator data from JetNet.
