Three months after launching scheduled domestic service in the UAE with flights to Sir Bani Yas and Delma Islands from Abu Dhabi’s Al Bateen Executive Airport, Rotana Jet extended its offering on September 19 to double-daily Embraer ERJ-145 service from Abu Dhabi International Airport to Fujairah. Exactly a week later, the upstart regional airline started twice-daily flights from Abu Dhabi International to Al Ain.
Aurora Aviation yesterday at EBACE signed a memorandum of understanding for a partnership agreement to run the first full-service FBO at Fujairah International Airport in the UAE. “We are looking to make Fujairah our hub,” Aurora CEO Ammar Kutait told AIN. With slots easily available and holding time less, Aurora will promote the airport for technical stops. While Aurora is not interested in another FBO in the region, Kutait did hint at plans for the company to get into the fuel supply business at another undisclosed airport.

Fujairah International Airport and Cochin International Airport on India's west coast yesterday forged a new alliance. The agreement was signed here at the MEBA show by Fujairah's general manager Dr. Khaled Al Mazouri and his Cochin counterpart Dr. C. G. Krishnadas Nair.
Fujairah International Airport, here at the MEBA show for the first time (Booth No. C740), is touting the benefits business aircraft operators can find at a site that is far less crowded than Dubai International Airport. Fujairah has a new FBO and, from 2011, a new highway in and out of the emirate will shorten the 48-mile drive to the center of Dubai to about an hour.
