China’s new ARJ21-700 regional jet appears on track to meet a revised timeline to achieve certification and first deliveries by year-end, according to the latest reports from its manufacturer. If the state-controlled airframer achieves that goal, it will happen barely a year after the 90-seater made its public debut at last November’s Airshow China in Zhuhai.

China’s Comac delivered on its promise to make a splash at this week’s Zhuhai Airshow today, as the state-controlled aerospace conglomerate revealed the identities of no fewer than six customers for the new C919 narrowbody. Together, Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Hainan Airlines, China’s CDB Leasing and GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) have placed orders for 100 aircraft, according to Comac.

Local low-fare airline Flydubai yesterday inked a pair of aircraft financing deals worth $160 million. Also here at the Dubai Airshow, it signed a contract with Goodrich to supply wheels and carbon brakes for its first 54 Boeing 737s.

South Korea’s Jeju Air has hired UK-based Airstream International Group to “re-market” its four in-service Bombardier Q400 turboprops along with a large spares package as the airline prepares to move to an all-Boeing 737-800 fleet. Now leasing two 737-800s from GECAS, Jeju Air placed an order for five more of the narrowbodies with Boeing in December 2007 but, according to Boeing’s delivery database, it has yet to take of any of the airplanes.

Irish-American aircraft lessor GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) is to acquire as many as 25 General Electric CF34-powered ARJ21-700ER regional jets from China Aviation Industry I (AVIC I) Commercial Aircraft Company (ACAC) for delivery from 2013 in a deal signed last month at the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai.
