NBAA said that major business aircraft manufacturers have committed to exhibit at the 2012 Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition, which will be held February 28 to March 1 next year in Shanghai.

NBAA and the Asian Business Aviation Association are resurrecting the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (Abace). Under a recently struck agreement, the event will be held annually beginning in 2012 at Hongqiao Airport in Shanghai, China. Abace 2012 will be held in the new Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Center from Feb. 28 to March 1, 2012.

The Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE) will return to Shanghai in 2012, NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen announced yesterday here at the NBAA convention. The NBAA and the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) will cohost the three-day event (February 28 to March 1, 2012).

Hawker Beechcraft (HBC) is installing customer-support leadership and adding $3 million in critical parts in the Asia-Pacific region. Steve Porte, v-p of international support, has relocated to the company’s regional headquarters at Hong Kong International Airport, where he will focus on developing HBC’s support infrastructure in the region. Porte will also supervise the Asia-Pacific field service representatives.

Reed Exhibitions launched Asian Business Aviation (ABA) as a new trade show that will be held for the first time in the Chinese city of Macau from June 9 to 11. The event will be hosted by the Macau Business Aviation Centre (MBAC) at Macau International Airport and will include indoor booths and an aircraft static display.

Despite the beginning of the Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day, the close timeframe to this week’s Singapore Air Show and record low temperatures, the third Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE), held last Thursday in Hong Kong, drew 1,131 people, 29 exhibitors and 14 aircraft on static display, say the organizers.

Difficult airspace and airport access combined with high costs are stunting the growth of business aviation in Asia, but governments in the region are beginning to get the message and are expected to improve the situation before too long. This was the message from Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) president Jason Liao at today's opening general session of the inaugural Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE).
