M.C. Schefft, flight dispatcher and travel coordinator for Peabody Energy of St. Louis, won a two-day trip for two to the Tanglewood Resort at Lake Texoma, Texas, at the S&D conference. The prize includes two nights at the resort and breakfast for two people, a one-day golf pass and a one-day charter fishing trip. Texoma Jet, an FBO and aircraft maintenance facility in Denison, Texas, awarded the prize.

BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) is transforming its Lafayette, La. component repair operation into a support and logistics center. The component repair work currently being done at the facility will be moved to the Dallas Airmotive Heritage Park facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.
FlightSafety International plans to offer Dassault Falcon 7X simulator training at its Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) learning center starting in early 2011. According to a spokesman, the company will manufacture two full-motion 7X simulators, with the first one based at the DFW facility; the location of the second has yet to be determined.

Privately owned Houston Executive Airport in Texas has experienced enough demand to justify building a new 23,400-sq-ft corporate hangar. The airport, built by developer Ron Henriksen, features a 6,610- foot runway that has already been lengthened once. Plans call for further extending the runway to 7,604 feet. The new hangar will fit up to 20 aircraft.
Negotiations are expected to resume tomorrow between Bell Helicopter and the more than 2,400 production and maintenance workers from United Auto Workers Local 218 that went on strike two weeks ago after rejecting a “last, best, and final offer” from the helicopter manufacturer.
BBA Aviation’s engine repair and overhaul company, Dallas Airmotive, has expanded PW305 capability at its Dallas Love Field (DAL) facility. New tooling allows the company to replace IBRs (integrally bladed rotors) on the PW305A, the engine that powers the Learjet 60. The first two engines to receive this treatment were completed in April. IBR replacement on the PW305A eliminates the requirement for inspection every 300 hours.
BBA Aviation ERO (engine repair and overhaul) is expanding its global reach. The parent company of Dallas Airmotive, H+S Aviation and Premier Turbines has extended its international service support network with the opening of regional centers in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Mumbai, India. The centers will provide service to include troubleshooting, parts support, borescope inspection and on-wing hot section inspection and repair.
BBA Aviation’s Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) company Dallas Airmotive is adding Rolls-Royce Model 250 services at its Dallas Love Field Regional Turbine Center (RTC).
Yankee Pacific Aerospace, an aerospace investment company, has merged two of its private aircraft interiors holdings, Executive Aircraft Completions of Tulsa, Okla., and Cabin Innovations of Lewisville, Texas. The merger was concurrent with the official opening of Cabin Innovations’ new 39,630-sq-ft facilities in Lewisville in December.
