The repair service agreement between Avidyne and Lincoln, Neb-based Duncan Aviation has been extended to include Avidyne’s EX500 series of multifunction displays (MFD). Under the terms of the agreement, Duncan Aviation will be the worldwide repair center for Avidyne’s EX500 series of multifunction displays. Duncan Aviation is now the exclusive provider of repair services for Avidyne customers using the EX500 as well as its first-generation flight situation displays (FSD) and early-model FlightMax MFDs.

Cessna received FAA type certification for the Citation CJ3+ on Thursday, some six months after the company introduced the new derivative. The CJ3+ features a Garmin G3000 integrated avionics suite, an automatically controlled cabin pressurization system and an advanced fault and maintenance diagnostic system.

Quest Aircraft received FAA approval to install the Garmin GFC 700 autopilot into its Kodiak turboprop single. The GFC 700–which provides flight director, autopilot, yaw damper, automatic and manual electric trim capabilities–integrates with the Kodiak’s G1000 avionics system. Standard features of the GFC 700 include electronic stability protection, which prevents the airplane from decelerating below established minimum airspeeds and allows for coupled go-arounds. Deliveries of Kodiaks equipped with the Garmin GFC 700 will begin in the fourth quarter.

Genesys Aerosystems’ HeliSAS helicopter stability augmentation system (SAS) and autopilot is now available for retrofit installation in Robinson R44 helicopters. The former Cobham subsidiary, which makes Chelton EFIS and STEC autopilot systems, was bought out by management in April. Here at LABACE, Genesys is exhibiting with Greenwich Aero Group subsidiary DAC International, which is one of its distributors (Booth 4003).

Based on the Garmin G3000 system, Prodigy Touch also brings larger displays and more functionality over the Phenom 300’s standard G1000-based Prodigy flight deck.

Banyan Air Service recently received the 2013 Garmin platinum award for excellent sales performance as part of the Garmin International avionics distributor network. Banyan has received similar recognition over the past 12 years for consistently ranking among the top distributors of Garmin aviation products. Joe Stewart, Garmin International aviation regional sales manager, presented the award to Don Campion, president of Banyan, and the Banyan Pilot Shop team; then, in a second ceremony, to the Banyan Avionics team.

Quest Aircraft brought a Kodiak single-engine turboprop equipped with the newly certified Summit interior to EAA AirVenture 2014 this week, along with another Kodiak fitted with the base Tundra interior. The Summit features a club-four layout in the cabin, with one or an optional two seats in the rear of the cabin.

BendixKing announced a new integrated cockpit retrofit for turboprops and light jets, as well as a new series of ADS-B avionics and FAA certification of its KSN 770 navigator, today on the opening day of EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wis.

Textron’s Bell Helicopter brought four helicopters to its Farnborough Airshow display (Exhibit Area L2), including a mockup of the Bell 525 Relentless outfitted in search-and-rescue configuration and a mockup of the 505 Jet Ranger X, which just concluded a three-month European tour.

A 407GX is also on the Bell static display, as is a 429 in emergency-medical service configuration. The 429 also just finished a three-month demonstration tour. During FIA14, a corporate-configured Bell 429 is flying demonstration flights.
