World Fuel Services officially launched the new Ascent fuel brand for FBOs this week at the NBAA Convention. The company brought one of its refueler trucks, complete with new global fuel brand logo, to Orlando to show attendees what they can expect to see over the next year as the company rolls out its global branding. Ascent will also offer equipment leasing, credit card processing, contract fuel, FBO marketing assistance and training and product liability insurance protection.

Astro-Med (Booth No. 2093) is unveiling its new ToughWriter 5 flight-deck printer for business and regional jets. The new printer is the world’s smallest Arinc 744A flight-deck printer, measuring 7.3 inches deep and weighing less than nine pounds. Print quality is 300 by 600 DPI and speed is up to five seconds per page. The printer features built-in WiFi.

NBAA and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) have begun television and newspaper advertising for their ‘No Plane No Gain’ initiative to tout the utility of business aircraft and to counter severely negative images, generated during the bailout debate, of corporate executives jetting about the country in plush cabins with cushy seats and wood-paneled interiors.
