Gulfstream Aerospace has STC approval for its Elite G450 and G550 interior package, which includes a streamlined passenger service unit, electronic seats and the Gulfstream cabin management system. It features leather ledges, less veneer and more high-gloss painted surfaces. The sidewall tables in the club seating area can be electronically activated and ambient LED lighting accents the edges of the curved credenza, the table box and the galley. Lighting is automatically activated in the drawers, cabinets and closets for easy accessibility.

CAE is launching training services for business aircraft pilots and mechanics in Asia. Starting later this year, the company will introduce programs covering the Bombardier Global 5000, Global Express and Global XRS; the Gulfstream G450 and G550; Dassault Falcon 7X; and the Sikorsky S-76C++ helicopter. Still to be determined is where in Asia CAE will install training centers to cover the new programs.

The Jet Business is here at ABACE 2012 looking for a second venue to capitalize on the success of its novel private jet “showroom” in London’s exclusive Knightsbridge district.

“We are still evaluating another venue that could be in China or elsewhere in Asia, but we have had some interesting conversations at the show,” company founder Steve Varsano told AIN.

No one doubts that demand for business aviation is growing in Asia, but is the available aircraft capacity being developed sufficiently to meet this demand? It is not, according to Jean Noel Robert, president of the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA), who believes that the lack of available charter aircraft is a real impediment to growth.

China’s newest charter operator–AllPoints Jet–ordered a pair of Gulfstream jets yesterday. The long-range G450 and G550 aircraft will be delivered in the first quarter of 2013 to the company’s base at Chengdu International Airport, from where AllPoints provides charter, management and maintenance.

China’s newest charter operator–AllPoints Jet–ordered a pair of Gulfstream jets today at Abace. The G450 and G550 will be delivered in the first quarter of 2013 to the company’s base at Chengdu International Airport, from where AllPoints provides charter, management and maintenance. Gulfstream also celebrated deliveries of a midsize G200 to Hong Kong-based Asia Jet and a G450 to Beijing-based Nanshan Jet at the show.

Gulfstream has earned a supplement type certificate from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration for its new Elite interior package for the G450 and G550 long-range business jets.
