WinAir of Taiwan announced at the NBAA Convention that it will launch a charter and aircraft management service in Taipei, Taiwan, on October 29. It will be the country's first such service. WinAir, which began as a private flight department, operates two U.S.-registered aircraft, a Gulfstream IV and a G450. The company recently took delivery of a G550 that was the first business jet to receive Taiwanese registration.
Van Nuys, Calif.-based Clay Lacy Aviation (Booth No. 2027) added eight business jets to its managed fleet in the first three quarters of this year, including a Falcon 2000, Hawker 800, Gulfstream V and Gulfstream 450, two Gulfstream IVs and two Gulfstream 550s. In addition, the company has reported a 22-percent increase in charter hours and a 13-percent jump in total flight hours from the same period last year.

GGlobal Jet Services, an aviation maintenance training firm, has launched an online engine-run course for the Gulfstream G550. The course employs interactive instruments, panels, consoles and controls that allow technicians to press buttons, flip switches and pull handles. Graphics and simulations provide the experience of being in the cockpit and exercises introduce emergency procedures that can be practiced in timed scenarios.
PPG Aerospace (Booth No. 4053) Total Service Solutions Group has signed a multi-year contract with Savannah, Ga.-based Gulfstream to provide comprehensive chemical support for the airframer’s G450, G550 and G650 programs. The group provides customers with a modular approach for customized chemical management.
