Aerospace Concepts Inc. introduced charter flights in Japan, Asia and the Pacific Rim in a Gulfstream IV-SP and a GV managed and operated by ACI from its hangar and maintenance facilities in Guam. The Pacific island was chosen as the base of operations for Asia because of its close proximity to the market, excellent facilities and status as a U.S. territory, the company said.

Over the next several months, Gulfstream will end Gulfstream 200 (nee Galaxy) business jet completion work at Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas, and turn the facility into the company’s sales and design headquarters. The former Galaxy Aerospace facility was acquired when General Dynamics (Gulfstream’s parent) purchased the company last June. Gulfstream 200 completions are being transferred to Dallas Love Field.

The 2008 Singapore Airshow was staged at an impressive new purpose-built site from February 19 to 24, and business aviation had a strong presence both on the static display and on the Singapore news agenda. Some 35,000 trade visitors were expected to stream through the gates to visit more than 800 exhibitors located in an impressive 430,000-sq-ft hall.

The General Administration of the Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) has awarded type certification to Gulfstream Aerospace for five of its business jet models–the Gulfstream GV, G350, G450, G500 and G550. The TC allows the registration and operation of all those models within China.

NetJets Europe is targeting fast-expanding Russian businesses for its fractional-ownership program. It has dropped the ferry charges that have previously been applied for flights out of Moscow and St. Petersburg to allow Russian clients the same terms and conditions as provided to program members in western Europe.

B/E Aerospace received a PMA for its LED wash lighting for the Gulfstream IV. Approval for the new system follows previously approved B/E passenger-adjustable LED reading lights for the GIV. The company is working on certification for wash lighting on other jets, including the Citation 550. B/E has also begun marketing two other new LED products.
