The company has brought a G450 and G550 to the static display at MEBA this week, but was unable to fly a G650 or the new G280 to Dubai because it is focusing on delivering these new jets to customers.

The company has brought a G450 and G550 to the MEBA static display but was unable to fly a G650 or the new G280 to Dubai, because it is focusing on delivering these new jets to customers.
China’s Nanshan Jet placed an order for a Gulfstream G650 today at Airshow China 2012 in Zhuhai. The charter operator, with bases in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, is a subsidiary of the Nanshan Group. It is expected to take delivery of the new very-high-speed, ultra-long-range jet in late 2014 or early 2015 and is third G450 next year.
Gulfstream Aerospace has introduced product-specific mobile applications for each type currently in production. The apps for the Gulfstream G150, G280, G450, G550 and G650 are available now in the Apple App Store.
Each app features interactive elements, including an introduction to the aircraft in the form of an interactive brochure; an interactive worldwide city-pair range map; worldwide product support information; and an extensive photo gallery.
Signaling its commitment to sustainability, Gulfstream flew its entire demonstration aircraft fleet–a G150, G280, G450, G550 and G650–to the NBAA Convention this week in Orlando, Fla., with both engines on each airplane burning a 50-50 blend of biofuel and jet-A. Each gallon of camelina-based Honeywell UOP Green Jet Fuel burned instead of petroleum-derived jet fuel reduces the carbon dioxide-equivalent emissions by 68 percent, based on life-cycle analysis, Gulfstream said.
Third-quarter revenues at General Dynamics’ aerospace division, which includes Gulfstream Aerospace and Jet Aviation, were $1.8 billion, up 30 percent from a year ago due to more green G650 deliveries, while profits rose 20.3 percent, to $261 million.

Cooling demand from the recently buoyant Chinese market for business jets is set to result in weaker overall sales for 2012, Gulfstream Aerospace president Larry Flynn said this week at Jet Expo in Moscow. The U.S. manufacturer has seen a dip in new orders from China this year in a reversal of last year’s market conditions in which Flynn said, “Overheated orders from China drove our 2011 sales well ahead of plan.”
Crediting participation in LABACE for much of its success in the Latin American aviation market, Gulfstream Aerospace is at the show this year with a broad representation of its range of business jets: the G550, G450 and the G150.
Gulfstream Field and Airborne Support Team (Fast) pilots Marilyn Whicker and Ademar Calligaro recently completed airborne mission number 3,000, ten years after Gulfstream launched the first-of-its-kind airborne maintenance and support service in May 2002.The flight departed Savannah to deliver an APU fuel control unit to a G550 at its home base on Southwest Regional Airport in Benton Harbor, Mich.
