Hubbard Aviation Technologies has made a major commitment to its Stage 3-certified QS3 hush-kit program for the Gulfstream GII, GIISP, GIIB and GIII. The program was originally launched by Stage III Technologies, which received an FAA supplemental type certificate (STC) in December 2003 for the modification but went out of business in February 2008.

Gulfstream Aerospace has received type certificate validation from the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand for the Gulfstream G500 and G550, allowing operators to register these business jet types in that country. The two aircraft join the large-cabin GIV, GIV-SP, G400 and G300, all of which New Zealand approved for registration in 2003.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport-based Constant Aviation
recently installed in a Gulfstream IV an Aircell ATG 4000 high-speed internet system complete with the Aircell Axxess cabin communications systems with Wi-Fi provisions. The installation was completed in conjunction with a 72-month inspection and was the fourth Aircell high-speed internet system Constant Aviation has installed this year.

Gulfstream Aerospace this week celebrated the 25th anniversary of the first flight of the Gulfstream IV, which the Savannah, Ga.-based manufacturer said is “the best-selling” large-cabin, long-range business jet in the world. On Sept. 19, 1985, three months ahead of schedule, the aircraft took off from Savannah (Ga.) International Airport, just eight days after it was rolled out at the manufacturer’s headquarters in Savannah.

The Nigerian government’s announcement last month that it is buying two Falcon 7Xs and one Gulfstream G550 has yielded a rare public viewing of business aircraft discounts. The three aircraft will join the country’s eight-aircraft presidential fleet, which includes a Boeing Business Jet, Gulfstream IV-SP and GV and two Falcon 900s.

Gulfstream Aerospace completed installation of a Kollsman General Aviation Vision System (GAViS) on a Gulfstream IV. The head-down enhanced vision system is also available for the GV and GIII, Gulfstream said.

At Moscow Vnukovo airport, Jet Aviation has completed the steps to operate as an independent Russian legal entity. The company has operated since late 2007 as
a branch of Jet Aviation Dusseldorf. The facility now provides maintenance services under its own EASA Part 145 approval.
