West Star Aviation (Booth No. 2259) has announced its selection as an Aviation Partners, Inc. (API) Blended Winglet installation center for the Falcon 2000. According to API, its winglets increase range, save fuel and cut CO2 emissions. West Star Aviation’s Grand Junction, Colo. facility is already an installation center for API Blended Winglets for the Hawker 800 series and has completed 30 installations.

Business jet valuations for pre-mid-1990 models are in “dire straits” and likely will never recover, Conklin & de Decker vice president and co-owner David Wyndham said in a company newsletter last month. While 15 percent of the active fixed-wing turbine fleet is for sale, he said that more than 25 percent of aircraft more than 15 years old are currently on the market.

The August 13 to 15 Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (Labace) featured 110 exhibitors, 22 more than in 2008, and more than 60 aircraft in the static display, compared with 48 the previous year, underscoring evidence that the economies in Latin America, and Brazil’s in particular, appear stable and even growing.
