As the industry nervously anticipates a tepid buying climate at this year’s NBAA Convention, engine and avionics manufacturer Honeywell sees a serious near-term dip in business jet deliveries but a gradual climb back to the heights reached during last year’s production peak, based on the results of its 18th annual 10-year market forecast.
Business jet valuations for pre-mid-1990 models are in “dire straits” and likely will never recover, Conklin & de Decker vice president and co-owner David Wyndham said in a company newsletter last month. While 15 percent of the active fixed-wing turbine fleet is for sale, he said that more than 25 percent of aircraft more than 15 years old are currently on the market.

Rockwell Collins last month wrapped up flight testing of a WAAS/LPV (wide-area augmentation system/localizer performance with vertical guidance) upgrade for the Pro Line 21 avionics system in the Hawker 800XP. The STC issued last month will allow Hawker 800XP operators equipped with Pro Line 21 to take advantage of the more than 1,500 WAAS/LPV approaches created so far.
Hawker Beechcraft has developed a maintenance training program, in partnership with FlightSafety International, for its product lines. The new MxPro program incorporates both academic and hands-on training. It immerses technicians in a learning environment specifically designed to replicate real-life service issues and events.

Hawker Beechcraft has added Germany-based Aerodata at Braunschweig (BWE) Airport to its network of authorized service centers. In addition to aircraft maintenance, Aerodata can provide turnkey special-mission aircraft worldwide. Aerodata is also a source of flight inspection systems. Hawker Beechcraft has also added Jeddah, Saudi Arabia-based Arabian Aircraft Service (Arabasco) to the Hawker 800 authorized service center network.
Hawker Beechcraft is expanding its global service network by adding Arabian Aircraft Service (Arabasco) to support its Hawker 800 series and Aerodata of Germany to support its Beechcraft line.
