Duncan Aviation has selected Houston-based AV8 MRO as its preferred provider for the repair and overhaul of all Hawker landing gear.
“This agreement allows Duncan Aviation to take advantage of our complete in-house repair and overhaul capabilities, while also giving them the opportunity to offer an overhaul exchange program to their customers,” said Yoel Arnoni, one of the MRO’s principals.
As NBAA kicks off this year’s annual convention here in Las Vegas, preparations are well underway for next year’s Asian Business Conference and Exhibition (ABACE), to be held April 15-17 at the Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre (SHPBASC), which has been its home since the show’s rebirth in 2011.
Marshall Aerospace announced yesterday that it purchased Beechcraft’s flagship European maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) business, Hawker Beechcraft Ltd. The facilities were also known as Hawker Beechcraft Services Chester and had provided a full range of Hawker and Beechcraft maintenance, modification, paint and upgrade services for more than 50 years.
Australia’s Hawker Pacific Group, which provides aircraft sales and support in Asia and the Middle East, has establishment a new aircraft-management service based at Singapore Seletar Airport.
Known as Hawker Pacific Aircraft Management, the new service offers “modular” management solutions for customers, such as a 24/7 operations control center, crewing, trip services (including ground handling and permits), fueling, administration and maintenance management.
Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre, which is the host facility for ABACE at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, chalked up an aviation first in China when it received approval last month from the CAAC, China’s airworthiness authority, for maintenance on the Dassault Falcon 900 series, which includes the 900DX, 900LX and 900EX EASy models.

The Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Center (SHPBASC), which is hosting ABACE this week here at Hongqiao International Airport, has made a lot of progress since the 2012 show. According to general manager Carey Matthews, the amount of traffic it has received since 2009 has grown by as much as 12 percent each year. This trend has continued so far in 2013 and by year-end the facility expects to have exceeded 4,000 movements for the first time in its history.
Craig Fuller, president and CEO of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), will step down from his position as soon as a successor is identified. The association also promoted Sean Collins from manager of the pilot information center to eastern regional manager.
Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) president Gregory Principato intends to step down from leadership of the association at the end of June.
The FAA has approved Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Centre (SHPBASC) as an overseas repair station. This makes the FBO at Shanghai’s Hongqiao International Airport the first dedicated business aviation support facility to hold this Part 145 approval in mainland China.
