The payment dispute between Eclipse Aviation and Eclipse 500 empennage assembly supplier Hampson Aerospace seems to be resolved for now, according to a recent court filing. On November 13, Hampson filed a lawsuit against Eclipse Aviation in the New Mexico Second District Court for failing to pay “in accordance with the schedule and under the terms set out” in a contract.

Eclipse Aviation announced at EBACE that it has won an order for 180 Eclipse 500s from a single customer. Eastern European-based Etirc Aviation Europe, a sales, service and support company, had previously ordered 40 Eclipse 500s for sale in Eastern Europe.

Cessna has received European Aviation Safety Agency airworthiness approval for the Citation Mustang, the first very light jet to be certified on this side of the Atlantic. Eclipse Aviation and United Airlines have “mutually agreed to terminate their pilot training program,” according to Michelle Burns, manager of training development for United’s flight training division. In 2004 Eclipse and United announced that the airline’s training division would provide screening for Eclipse pilots and type rating training.

Cessna Citation 560, Pueblo, Colo., Feb. 16, 2005–On a three-mile final for the ILS approach for Runway 26R to the Pueblo Municipal Airport, a Circuit City Citation crashed in freezing rain and fog, killing all eight people on board. Visibility was eight miles, with broken clouds at 900 feet, overcast at 1,400 feet. The temperature was -3 degrees C; dew point -5 degrees C. ATC had warned the jet that it was too low.
