After falling for five consecutive years, business jet deliveries this year are poised to rise for the first time since 2008, according to a forecast released by JetNet iQ on Friday at the NBAA Aircraft Registration, Finance and Legal Conference in St. Petersburg, Fla. The prognostication calls for 685 jets worth $21 billion to be shipped this year, compared with an estimated 644 jets worth $20.5 billion delivered last year.

According to economist Brian Beaulieu, 2015 will be the start of a strong economic rebound in the U.S. Speaking last week at the third annual JetNet IQ Summit in New York, Beaulieu, CEO of financial data analyst ITR, added, however, that he expects another fiscal slowdown next year before the start of the upswing cycle.

Based on its most recent statistics and industry member surveys, aviation data provider Jetnet continues to forecast an upturn in the market. “If you liked the industry over the last 10 or 20 years, we believe it’s going to get even better,” said JetNet iQ director Rolland Vincent at the company’s “state of the market” briefing this week at the NBAA Convention.

Susan Sheets Brogan, a business aviation industry veteran and former president of the National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA), has joined the JetNet iQ team as director of special programs. JetNet iQ is the company’s forecasting and advisory service for business aviation. On October 30 during the NBAA Convention, Brogan and the other JetNet iQ staff will give a briefing on the current state of the business aircraft market and a forecast for next year.

Aviation data supplier JetNet announced the latest results of its IQ research NBAA 2011 in Las Vegas, and the results should come as good news to those awaiting a bizav turnaround. The company, whose surveys involve 80 countries, 1,500 operators and 3,500 aircraft, forecasts that 11,381 business jets valued at $258 billion will be delivered between now and 2020. The total includes 625 this year, 785 next year and 978 in 2013.

In January, the company launched its new JetNet iQ survey program and used the more than 1,000 global responses it received, combined with product life cycle, market value analysis and other economic indicators, to shape its forecast.

Business aviation data provider JetNet is marking a decade of consecutive EBACE show appearances by demonstrating two new products here this week (Stand 232). Introduced earlier this year, the company’s Jetnet iQ advisory service is available to customers on a members-only basis and consists of three main components aimed at increasing clients’ industry awareness.
