Honeywell has launched its redesigned Ovation Select cabin management system, a package that “seamlessly integrates entertainment and connectivity technology through a simple and intuitive passenger interface.”
The user interface was designed to allow the passenger to stay “connected,” whether it is via BlackBerry, laptop, MP3 player, video-capable iPod, XM Radio or watching a movie from the high-definition Blu-ray DVD player.

German interiors specialist Lufthansa Technik will be providing its network integrated cabin equipment (Nice) system to Bombardier as standard equipment on the Canadian manufacturer’s Challenger 300. Nice is a digital-based cabin-management and entertainment package that includes an iPod docking station to stream the audio output.
Rockwell Collins has introduced cabin management controls that will let passengers connect their iPods to the airplane’s in-flight entertainment system. The iPod Solo and Quad stations provide access to iPod music and video libraries through the cabin audiovisual system. As their names imply, the Solo station provides a dock for one iPod or iPhone and the Quad unit slots for as many as four.

PGA Electronic, based in Montierchaume, France, announced it will deliver its first full digital version of the Paradize 3 cabin management and entertainment system early next year. The new digital system will link all the aircraft’s in-flight entertainment and cabin lighting components, including PGA’s own on-demand audio and video.
