TSS Aviation, based in Cincinnati, and Standard Aero’s Maryville, Tenn. MRO facility have earned AS9100 and AS9110 certification, respectively. These certifications are the first received for the newly combined companies of Standard Aero, Landmark, TSS and Associated Air Center under the DAE Engineering Companies banner.
PrivatAir’s Paris Le Bourget FBO has completed ISO 9001-2000 quality certification. The executive aircraft handling operation, which trades under the name PrivatAir France, has been approved on the basis of the quality-management system it introduced in August using a model launched by PrivatAir at its Geneva base in 1998.
Executive Jet Management recently earned ISO 9001:2000 certification, making the company one of the few U.S. charter, management and maintenance companies to receive such approval. The ISO 9000 series of standards represents an international consensus on quality-management practices with the objective of ensuring that a company can “consistently achieve customer and regulatory quality requirements,” EJM said.
Health and security assistance provider MedAire disclosed that its two largest shareholders have reached a letter of agreement “outlining mutual goals and strategies in relation to the direction and control of MedAire” that would effectively place control of the company in the hands of its largest competitor, International SOS (ISOS).
The FAA’s office of aviation safety has been recognized as the first federal agency to achieve certification to the International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard of a single corporate management system that covers multiple services.
Piedmont Aviation Component Services announced that it has entered an agreement to sell all of its ownership interest to Tulsa, Okla.-based Limco Airepair. Limco will continue to operate Piedmont with the same name, facilities and employees.
Piedmont also announced it has met the standards and requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 certification process and has been registered by AQA as an ISO 9001:2000-compliant company.
“Obtaining ISO 9001:200 and AS9120 certification of our quality-management system was a critical part of meeting the demand for the highest level of quality control. It means so much to us to know that we are performing at the highest standards possible in meeting the requirements of the business jet community,” said CRS Jet Spares president Armando Leighton Jr.
