Embraer and Airbus are trying to persuade fractional ownership operator Flight Options to switch its 25-aircraft commitment for Fairchild Dornier’s Envoy 7 business jet to their respective large cabin offerings, the Legacy and the Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ).
Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has expanded capacity at its Hamburg, Germany completions center and now offers a dedicated production line for large airliner-class VIP jets and four lines for its branded XXL Class interiors for the Boeing Business Jet and Airbus Corporate Jetliner. Starting in 2003, the company will offer XXL Class completions on Fairchild Dornier’s Envoy 7, which is a derivative of its 728JET regional airliner.

Hong Kong aircraft charter and management company C Jet will be looking for completion centers. In November, the company placed a firm order for an Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) and signed a memorandum of understanding for the first executive version of the Airbus A350XWB. The ACJ interior will be based on the A318 Prestige cabin concept, featuring a lounge, dining area, private office and stateroom with en-suite lavatory and shower.
Despite “challenges” in assembly of the first Boeing 787 prototype that have forced delay of the first flight and certification by at least six months, Boeing Business Jets does not expect the delay to have any impact on delivery dates for executive models of the new jetliner. As of today, Boeing claims to have firm orders for nine executive 787s–five 787-8s and four 787-9s. Two of the nine will go to an unidentified leasing company.
