Updated versions of MedAire’s Aircraft First-Aid Kit and Aircraft First-Aid Kit Rx products are now available in the U.S., with global availability planned for early 2013. Key updates to the Aircraft First-Aid Kit include medications and equipment to address and improve medical diagnostic accuracy in flight. MedAire also introduced an updated emergency medical kit that works in conjunction with the Aircraft First-Aid Kit 1.0. The MedAire Aircraft First-Aid Kit 1.0 meets or exceeds FAR Parts 91, 121, 135; EU OPS 1.745 and Canada AOHS Section 9.8.

Hubbard Aviation Technologies has made a major commitment to its Stage 3-certified QS3 hush-kit program for the Gulfstream GII, GIISP, GIIB and GIII. The program was originally launched by Stage III Technologies, which received an FAA supplemental type certificate (STC) in December 2003 for the modification but went out of business in February 2008.

Quiet Technology Aerospace (Booth No. 4614) has the most Gulfstream II/III hush kits installed, with more than 75 done so far. The Opa-Locka, Fla. company’s Stage 3 hush kit can be installed by a maintenance center of the customer’s choice and takes 10 days or less, according to director of engineering Martin Gardner.

Hubbard Aviation Technologies of St. Paul, Minn., last week signed a contract with Aeroshear Aviation Services of Van Nuys, Calif., to fabricate and install engine hush kits for the Rolls-Royce Spey 511-8 engines powering Gulfstream GIIs and GIIIs. Called the QS3, “for quiet Spey engines,” according to Stanley Hubbard, CEO of Hubbard Aviation Technologies and Hubbard Broadcasting, the kits are priced at $2.4 million (installed).

Duncan Aviation (Booth No. 5100) has developed a new addition to its Duncan Design Collection–a shell kit for the Falcon 50EX, the first of which is currently being installed. The shell kit provides for 1.25-inch seated headroom increase, new LED (light-emitting diode) lighting, an oxygen delivery system upgrade and improved signage. The 50EX shell follows the successful Falcon 50 kit, of which 17 have been installed to date.

Hush kits developed by Stage III Technologies for Rolls-Royce Spey-powered Gulfstreams are back. Here at NBAA’08, the new owner of the design, Hush Kit Aviation, LLC, is exhibiting the first installation of an FAA-certified, Stage III hush kit on a Gulfstream II in the static park at Orlando Executive Airport.
