Lace

October 7, 2013 - 1:10am

If romance is high on the list of interior design, Townsend Leather has a perfect idea: a new lace weave pattern. “In fashion, lace gives a romantic feel to any outfit, so why not do the same for your [aircraft] interior?” asks the company.

It’s not a true weave, but an embossing pattern that allows availability of full hides. For most part the tones are dark neutrals; new patterns use some different colors.

Townsend Leather plans to introduce its new Artesano Woven leather at the NBAA Convention this month. The Johnstown, N.Y.-based fine leather purveyor describes the product as an “exquisitely beautiful” new spin on old-world craftsmanship. It is created from lambskin hand-glazed in the U.S. and woven on antique teak looms in the Philippines. The collection is already in stock in colors that include antique lace and black tuxedo.
