The FAA has issued technical standard order (TSO) approval to ACSS for its NXT-600 mode-S transponder, which is designed to meet ADS-B out mandates that are already in effect and planned for implementation. The NXT-600 is “ideal for regional and business aircraft, including helicopters,” according to ACSS, and complies with DO-260B and DO-181E standards required by Australia’s CASA, Eurocontrol and the FAA for ADS-B out. The NXT-600 has already been selected for and installed in Bombardier Q400s and it also works with the ACSS Tcas 3000SP surveillance processor.
L-3 Aviation Products (Booth No. N4505) announced at the NBAA Convention that Enstrom Helicopter has selected its Trilogy ESI-2000 electronic standby instrument as an option for the Enstrom 480B helicopter.
The Trilogy ESI-2000 provides attitude, altitude, airspeed and optional heading data on a 3.7-inch digital screen. It mirrors the layout of the Enstrom 480B’s primary display, facilitating a quick transition to back-up flight information in an emergency, while reducing weight and saving panel space, L-3 says.
There’s no better way to start off an EAA AirVenture show in Oshkosh, Wis., with a little flying out of the world’s busiest airport (during the week-long show, at least). Last year, the Gobosh folks were kind enough to invite me to fly the Gobosh 700A Light Sport Aircraft (LSA). This year, Remos Aircraft is demonstrating its newest LSA, the GX NXT, a high-wing composite two-seater powered by a 100-hp Rotax 912ULS.
New on the In The Works list this month is Bombardier’s latest midsize jet, the Learjet NXT. The company hasn’t provided many details about the program but did say the eight-seat airplane will offer speeds up to Mach 0.82 and an 1,800-nm range.
Bombardier has selected Dubai as the venue for the airshow introduction of the Learjet NXT, an all-new business jet intended to fill the market gap between the company’s $13.3 million Learjet 60XR and $21 million Challenger 300.
