Business aircraft cabin specialist MacCarthy Interiors has moved its headquarters to a new and larger facility near Gatwick Airport, about 35 miles south of London. The move essentially doubles its capacity. MacCarthy earlier last year signed an agreement with Harrods Aviation that allows both companies to offer similar interior completion and refurbishment services at their respective locations at London Luton and Stansted Airports.

Starting March 25, all general aviation aircraft will be required to have reserved slots for both landings and takeoffs at London Luton Airport.
Harrods Aviation has been honored as best handling agent in the Excellence Awards voted for by members of the Baltic Air Charter Association (BACA). The UK business aviation services group has FBOs at London’s Stansted and Luton airports. BACA members also selected air taxi firm London Executive Aviation as best general aviation operator and Dubai International Airport as the best airport.
Harrods Aviation at London Luton Airport is preparing to relocate to much larger premises by next summer. The British FBO will move to Hangar 129, which is adjacent to the airport’s existing cargo area and offers its own security entrance from a road that avoids traffic heading for the main passenger terminal.

Gulfstream’s service center at London Luton Airport is one of 12 factory support facilities, but it is currently unique in being the only one on soil foreign to the Savannah, Ga.-based OEM. It is also one of the most recent additions to the stable, Gulfstream having acquired a lease on it from Signature in April 2003.
Aerospace Products International (API), a wholly owned subsidiary of First Aviation Services, has opened a distribution and logistics center on London’s Luton Airport. It has developed 7,000 sq ft of space for storage and has the capacity to expand to 14,000 sq ft to meet demand. It is the company’s first dedicated operation in Europe.
