ZuluLog.com has released version 5.0 of its cloud-based aviation record-keeping software. The update includes a redesigned module for tracking aircraft maintenance, required inspections, documents and expenses. The new module allows the user to create an explorer view of the components of each aircraft and then define the required maintenance and inspections for each component.
Timco Aviation Services has purchased the assets that were used by Pemco World Air Services in its former aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul operation at Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport. The company has also signed a lease agreement for the hangar previously occupied by Pemco and will use the facility to expand the existing base of business there serving regional aircraft operators.
“During our 2010 NBAA press conference we sent a clear message to the industry: we do what we say we’re going to do. In the past four years we have experienced a 16-percent compound annual growth rate, with almost 20-percent growth as we continue to evolve our CompleteCare strategy beyond the basic MRO services,” Scott Taylor, senior vice president of business aviation for StandardAero (Booth No. 2000), told AIN.
Amac Aerospace has been granted Boeing 747-400 and 747-8 Part 145 approval. It allows the MRO provider to offer base and line maintenance services for the aircraft with no restrictions. The company also recently announced Amac Aerospace Basel has received UAE CAMO approval authorizing it to provide continuous airworthiness management services on UAE-registered aircraft.

Constant Aviation has named Cory Hankins West Coast regional sales manager. He will be responsible for selling maintenance, avionics, interior modifications/refurbishments, composite/accessory repairs and parts in the West Coast region for the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport-based MRO provider. Hankins joined Constant Aviation from Universal Aviation, where he was the business development manager for the Western U.S. Before that, Hankins sold maintenance, avionics, interiors and engine agreements in the West Coast region for Pentastar Aviation.

This also comes on the heels of the company’s setting up a new maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Istanbul, Turkey.
Corpair Composites is in the process of renovating a 20,000-sq-ft facility in O’Fallon, Mo., and expects to begin operations there this fall. Avmats is the holding company for the new business aviation composite maintenance, repair and overhaul facility. “Last June I was approached by Butch Geissmen, chairman and CEO of Aviation Material and Technical Support [Avmats], about starting a composite shop. He said it was the missing piece of the Avmats puzzle,” Bill Kener, vice president of Composites for Corpair Composites, told AIN.
West Star Aviation has acquired the Messier Bugatti Dowty overhaul manuals and technical data for 192-month landing-gear restorations on the Challenger 604. “West Star has made a substantial investment in procuring these manuals,” said Steve Goede, accessories program manager for West Star Aviation. “No technician can perform a Challenger 604 192-month gear restoration without them so it was an easy choice for us.”
A J Walter Aviation is to buy the component repair business of Aveos Fleet Performance. AJW plans to develop an MRO operation and will establish Aveos’s Montreal facility as its new global aircraft components maintenance headquarters. The acquisition is part of a larger expansion program that has included establishing offices in Miami, Dubai and Singapore; additional spares hubs across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas; and the launch of a new engine division. A UK global headquarters and logistics center will open later this year.
