StandardAero has signed an exclusive engine maintenance contract with AJ Aeroservices to support the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency’s (MMEA) fleet of Bombardier CL-415 amphibious turboprops. The CL-415 is used in a water bombing role. StandardAero first established its partnership with AJ Aeroservices in 2011 with field service support and has been supporting Bombardier CL-415 operators worldwide for more than a decade.

The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) will step up plans this year to expand its operations with the delivery of three new helicopters. First Admiral Zammani Mohd Amin, the agency’s director of Air Wing operations, told AIN that it will continue to grow.

As an aid to combating piracy in this region, Alenia has offered the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) the use of two previously owned ATR 42 MP (maritime patrol) aircraft to be operated by a local company on its behalf. Reporting to the defense minister, the MMEA began operations in November last year under the purview of the Prime Minister’s Department.
