Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Jim Albaugh joined Mitsubishi Aircraft president Hideo Egawa to launch the partnership, under which Boeing Commercial Aviation Services will help with spare parts provisioning, service operations and field services for the MRJ.

Embraer Defense and Security has selected Liebherr-Aerospace to provide the environmental and cabin pressure control system for the KC-390 military airlifter. The systems will be developed and manufactured in Toulouse, France, and will feature integrated control architecture combined with high-reliability lightweight pneumatic and mechanical components.

Last Thursday 41 employees of the Chromalloy facility in Carson City, Nev. were informed their positions are being eliminated. “We experienced a decline in our Carson City facility and after review of the business and industry environment we announced the reduction to better align the business with the marketplace,” a spokesman for the company told AIN.

In a three-month-long test conducted by the U.S. Army Aviation Training Center at Fort Eustis, 18 common mechanic’s tools were replaced by automatic-locking Link tools. Army instructors reported that, depending upon the type of task, during the testing period there was a 25- to 50-percent reduction in task duration.
