The ExecuJet Aviation FBO at Zurich Kloten Airport has installed a WLAN high-speed communications connection for passenger and crew use. Also new is a vending machine selling snacks and drinks, giving visitors choices beyond the complimentary coffee and mineral water.
The newest FBO building at Dallas Love Field Airport is six years old but looks younger. Located on the northeast corner of the airport close to the intersection of Runways 13 and 18L, Business Jet Center is a Texas-size facility, with a three-story FBO terminal on a 24-acre property that includes 178,000 sq ft of hangar, FBO and office space.
Signature Flight Support broke ground late last month on a new facility at Boston Logan Airport. The new 12,000-sq-ft, two-story terminal and 8,800-sq-ft ground-support repair shop are scheduled to open next July. The company, which has operated an FBO at Logan for nearly 40 years, recently signed a new lease with the Massachusetts Port Authority under which it will operate the FBO at Logan until 2016.
Rectrix Aerodrome Centers is building a new FBO facility with hangars at Florida’s Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport. “We’re hoping to open in late fall,” said Kevin Bradley, general manager of the company’s Hyannis, Mass. FBO. Rectrix’s Hyannis facility opened last September, bringing a new level of service to Barnstable Municipal Airport-Boardman/Polando Field.
