Raisbeck Engineering’s (Booth No. 4254) Epic performance system affords an increased maximum gross takeoff weight (mtow) limit for installation on Hawker Beechcraft C90 series King Airs to 10,500 pounds and an increase in the aircraft’s zero fuel weight to 9,000 pounds, the company announced. Current owners of the C90 Epic system will receive the gross weight increase at no cost.

Because there are few business jets registered in Russia, almost all business jets flying into the nation are foreign-registered and therefore subject to the rules governing foreign aircraft.
Teterboro (N.J.) Airport (TEB) manager Lanny Rider told AIN last month that if Boeing follows through on plans to produce a bizliner version of its 717 at less than 100,000 pounds mtow, the airplane would be welcome at his airport. “Let ’em come on in,” he said. Rider’s employer, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the airport, restricts 100,000-pound aircraft from using TEB without prior permission.
Jim Christy, vice president of Hayden, Idaho-based Aerostar Aircraft, continues his search for an investor or investors willing to put up $50 million–while not demanding the whole store– to bring the proposed turbofan-powered derivative of the Piper Aerostar 600/700 through certification and into production.
The uprated Rolls-Royce AE3007-C1 engine for the 2002 Citation X (starting with S/N 0173) has received FAA certification. The engine provides 5 percent more takeoff thrust (6,764 lb each side). Cessna said the enhanced engine performance will help to increase the Citation X’s payload capability, in addition to improving the business jet’s takeoff and climb performance.
Bombardier plans to increase the maximum takeoff weight of the Learjet 45 by at least 800 lb, bringing the mtow to 21,300 lb. With the improved weight vs payload capabilities, the Learjet 45 will now be able to take eight passengers on longer flights, such as Moscow to Madrid or Cairo to Paris, according to Bombardier.
When the Aviation and Transportation Security Act was adopted last November, the flight-training industry was told that an online system would be in place by January to expedite submissions of the required notifications to the attorney general when a foreign national applies for training in aircraft with a mtow of 12,500 lb or more (or simulators for such aircraft).

Nav Canada’s declining revenue from reduced traffic volume over the last year as a consequence of the slowing economy and September 11 has forced the operator of Canada’s ATC system to propose a modest 3-percent across-the-board increase in service charges to the airlines, business jet operators and general aviation users.
