The FAA has released a list of stadiums to help pilots comply with notam 2/0199. The FAA’s list provides the latitude and longitude of sporting event sites and the class of airspace above each site, as well as other useful information. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Start-up VLJ developer Excel-Jet is taking this saying to heart as it attempts to move its headquarters in exchange for local government financial support. Nearly two years ago, the Monument, Colo.-based company said it was moving to Guthrie, Okla., to take advantage of a $3 to $5 million incentive package from local and state resources.
Citation Excel initial and recurrent pilot training is now available at SimuFlite in Dallas. Training is available as a 14-day initial program or a four-day recurrent course on the company’s new Excel simulator, which received FAA level-D approval in August. The simulator is equipped with Honeywell Primus 1000 avionics, including Primus 880 weather radar. The simulator also features TCAS II and EGPWS.
Heads Up Technologies of Carrollton, Texas, is providing upwash, downwash, aisle and toe-kick LED lighting as standard equipment in Cessna’s Citation X, XLS and Excel production aircraft. Work lights and accent lights in the galley make use of the same technology. The LED system was on display last year in the Citation XLS and Citation X aircraft on static display at the NBAA Convention.
Marquis Jet is now marketing a 25-hour card that gives users access to 12.5 hours in each of two different aircraft types. The new card combines aircraft types with different seating and baggage configurations, amenities and distance capabilities. The company offers two different versions of the new card: a Citation Excel/Hawker 400XP combination and a Citation X/Citation Excel combo.
The Guthrie, Okla. Industrial Development Authority is giving Excel-Jet, developer of the four-seat Sport-Jet single-engine very light jet (VLJ), up to $5 million in incentives to relocate its facility from Colorado Springs, Colo., to Guthrie. Excel-Jet plans to move within 90 to 120 days, shortly after the expected first flight of its VLJ.
