Donaldson Aerospace & Defense is bringing dry media technology to the civilian helicopter market. The company is flight-testing its next-generation non-woven dry media on MD500s equipped with inlet barrier filters and will certify and offer the technology as an option for a range of popular helicopters.

International business aviation marketing and services company Action Aviation signed an exclusive distribution agreement at EBACE with AirGlide for Aviation Shield, a new nano-technology coating that claims fuel-burn savings of around 4 percent through drag reduction. AirGlide said the nano-particles in its coating fill microscopic gaps and crevices in the aircraft’s skin surface, reducing drag by up to 40 percent.

Goodrich Corp. (Stand OE4) has begun collaborating with researchers at an Ohio university to produce a nanomaterial nicknamed “fuzzy fiber” that has metal-like conductive properties and can be formed into large composite structures for use in aerospace.
