Naples Jet Center in Florida was born out of the partnership of two Rust Belt FBO owners, according to Bruce Byerly, who describes himself as “a third-generation aviation-family member.” After he received a degree in economics in 1992 from Vanderbilt University, he returned to work at the family FBO, Byerly Aviation on Greater Peoria Regional Airport in Illinois.

Naples, Fla., is the site for Air Chef’s 14th business aircraft catering facility in 11 metropolitan areas. The 2,500-sq-ft kitchen, said president Paul Schweitzer, is distinguished by a “collection of fine wines.” The Naples location marked the third opening of a new Air Chef catering kitchen this year. Two new facilities in Chicago were launched in June.

Citing the effects of September 11 on their associations’ priorities and members, NBAA and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association have decided not to pursue their appeals of the Naples Airport noise decision. That decision, by a U.S. District Court in Fort Myers, Fla., held that a ban on the operation of Stage 2 bizjets at Naples does not violate the U.S. Constitution.

Raisbeck Engineering has named Naples Jet Center an authorized installation center. Naples Jet Center will promote, sell and install Raisbeck King Air Performance Systems to current and prospective customers. The Florida facility is a new FBO that offers maintenance, avionics and sales.
