Flight operations support group Nexus announced the acquisition of aviation risk management and safety audit provider Wyvern Consulting from online charter portal Avinode. In an October 22 announcement, the company also confirmed the appointment of the following three business aviation veterans to Wyvern’s board: former NetJets executive Vincent Santulli, former Beechcraft executive Shawn Vick and former FAA associate administrator Nick Sabatini. Wyvern CEO Art Dawley, an experienced corporate pilot and flight department manager, also has joined the board.
Saudi Arabia-based Nexus Flight Operations Services formed a new partnership with U.S.-based customer service experts ServiceElements International (SEI) to expand its training programs in the Middle East and Africa. Under the partnership, the companies will offer training courses in organizational resource management and other related topics which focus on the human elements and issues within the aviation and aerospace industries.

Middle East-based flight support group Nexus Flight Operations Services is preparing to set up an operation in India. Nexus India is being established through a partnership with Mumbai-based Sovika Airline Services, which has been involved in aircraft handling and airport support for more than 20 years.

Currently, there are 136 airports in India and within the last decade the country’s domestic air traffic has quadrupled. Industry forecasts predict that the healthy market growth witnessed last year in India will continue to increase, with the country poised to be among the top five aviation nations in the next 10 years.

Nexus, which is a subsidiary of the MAZ Aviation Group, announced two new flight operations centers in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain in December.
