The Pentagon announced the award of an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to Northrop Grumman on June 3 for ongoing modernization and sustainment of the B-2A Spirit bomber. The IDIQ contact comes with a ceiling of $9.9 billion; at the same time, Northrop Grumman is preparing for the possibility of its building the Long Range Strike Bomber (LRS-B) that will replace the B-2.

Keith Marshall served 24 years in the British Army as a helicopter pilot and instructor before launching a career in the private sector that has included stops with Northrop Grumman; MGISC Toulouse; and Selex Galileo (formerly GEC-Marconi), where he held the title of executive v-p in the electronic warfare and battlespace divisions. Marshall’s appointment signals a drive to bolster PremiAir’s capabilities in aerospace systems markets, according to the company.
Northrop Grumman (Booth No. 502) will supply its latest flight information equipment for the AgustaWestland AW609 civil tiltrotor, the company announced at Heli-Expo 2014.
Developed by Northrop Grumman Litef in Germany, the LCR-110 inertial reference system and LCR-300A air data attitude heading reference system will be standard equipment on the AW609, which is now undergoing FAA certification testing. The combined avionics suite will allow AW609 pilots to perform precision required navigation performance (RNP) flight operations.
