Integrated Microwave Technologies introduced a new tool for aerial surveillance Tuesday at Heli-Expo ‘13. The Mobile Viewer-BC Dual-Diversity COFDM Briefcase Receiver/Monitor is intended for law enforcement, public security monitoring and covert surveillance operations.
Engineers from Lufthansa Technik and Thrane & Thrane have jointly developed a new mobile access router as a key component of Lufthansa Technik’s networked integrated cabin equipment, nicknamed Nice. The router will be the main interface to all devices on the Nice network, providing wireless laptop connectivity and other data access through Inmarsat’s Swift64 service and Gatelink (802.11b and -g).
Blue Sky Network of La Jolla, Calif., has launched a wireless airborne router extending access to its satcom data or for surfing the Internet. The unit manages not only secure wireless standards but also wired Ethernet via its built-in, four-port duplex hub. The wireless airborne router supports features for multiple cabin passengers–ranging from mapping to multi-player games–and pilots, who can exchange files with electronic flight bags.
