Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) transmission requirements will again change. Effective on or about October 4, commercial operators must make an APIS transmission using the UN-EDIFACT format, which captures additional passenger information. The NBAA APIS submission service does not use this format and as of that date will no longer be available.

Beginning today, all U.S. citizens and nonimmigrant aliens from Canada, Bermuda and Mexico entering the U.S. from within the Western Hemisphere at airports of entry will be required to present a valid passport. In lieu of a passport, U.S. citizens have been permitted to present a variety of documents to establish their identity and citizenship and right to enter the U.S.

According to Universal Weather, ground handling in the Middle East has improved, driven by increased traffic and expectations of higher levels of service. Dubai, which serves a higher volume of business aviation traffic than most other Middle East destinations, remains the standard bearer.

Universal Weather & Aviation has introduced a new online Master Crew List (MCL) and Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) filing application that adapts to work the way its individual clients work. In essence this means that clients can provide relevant MCL/APIS information via their online format, or if preferred, they can let Universal collect the required information to file the necessary reports.
