A proposed stadium for the Arizona Cardinals NFL football team in Tempe, Ariz., would be a hazard to airplanes using Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the FAA concluded last month. The FAA lacks the authority to stop construction, but its conclusion might prompt the state to consider other locations. The Cardinals is the only NFL team that uses a college stadium as a home field. The proposed site is 2 mi east of the airport.
