The hearing will take testimony from concerned parties that will be the basis of a report that could provide the basis for imposed and/or voluntary solutions.

Premier Solutions of America has introduced a new “eco-friendly” paint stripper that is “biodegradable, non-toxic, easy to use and easy to apply.”

The EFS 2500 paint and/or powder-coat remover has been engineered to replace hazardous methylene chloride-based paint strippers. MeCl is a known carcinogen and is a chemical classified as a hazardous air pollutant by the Environmental Protection Agency.

As the European Union emissions trading scheme (EU ETS) expands to cover aircraft flying into and out of the EU starting in 2012, airlines based all around the world stand to feel the effects. Of course, U.S. regional airlines don’t fly into Europe, and until recently few of them spent much time considering the prospect of taxes on their carbon emissions.

AAR has been appointed as a distributor for the new AirManager air filtration system developed by Quest International to eliminate potentially harmful airborne contaminates. U.S.-based AAR will be helping the UK’s Quest to find new applications for the active air filtration and sterilization system, which is based on close-coupled field technology.

Eurocopter is here exhibiting its “Bluecopter” diesel engine concept on the static display. The so-called “high-compression engine” is supposed to bring greener performance to light helicopters currently powered by a single turboshaft. Targeted are a 40-percent cut in CO2 emissions and a 53-percent reduction in NOx emissions.

The JetAir BPS uses “cold plasma ionic interaction” technology, which catches and inactivates air contaminants and reduces “harmful and annoying gases against which traditional filters have no effect,” according to Innotech.
