Moog has acquired QuickSet International, a manufacturer of precision positioning systems and pan-and-tilt mechanisms. The products are used to position surveillance cameras, thermal imagers, sensors and communication antennas.

The FAA has installed nearly 30 Webcams in Alaskan mountain passes, rocky coasts and remote villages to supplement the agency’s aviation weather reports. Each of
the sites includes the direction being viewed plus a “loop” feature that permits a nearly 360-degree view. Images can be viewed at http://akweathercams.faa.gov.

That’s what the Trenton-Mercer County Airport (TTN) is asking, and Mercer County plans to make public the tail numbers of aircraft that operate at the airport between midnight and 6 a.m. NBAA has expressed the opinion that such an action would be unreasonable and would unjustly discriminate against the operators of those aircraft and therefore violate the FAA Grant Assurances.

The number of tools needed for a modern business jet maintenance shop and the hassles of keeping track of their whereabouts and calibration status seem to climb every year. FAA inspectors are increasingly concerned about calibration of even the simplest tools, and unless an operation has its own tool crib specialist, there’s a good chance that tools could easily go missing or out of calibration.
