The direct reports from Jet Aviation concerning its “for sale” status do not reveal much in the way of hard news. At least not yet. A spokesman confirmed the company has engaged New York investment house Goldman Sachs to handle the possible sale of the, family-owned company.

Farnborough, UK-based business aircraft operations company Gama Holdings purchased PrivatAir Inc., the U.S. division of PrivatAir Group, on February 29 for
an undisclosed sum. Gama also bought 25 percent of charter operator Flight Services Group (FSG), which provides charter services to the former U.S. PrivatAir management clients.

Gama also bought 25 percent of charter operator Flight Services Group (FSG), which provides charter services to the former U.S. PrivatAir management clients. Gama Holdings has renamed the U.S. company Gama Aviation and said its headquarters will remain in Stratford, Conn.

Charter firm PrivatAir has converted one of its two options into an order for a $162 million VIP Boeing 787-8. As a result of this conversion, PrivatAir now has two executive 787s on firm order and holds an option on one more. The charter company said the VIP 787s will help it meet increasing customer demand for long-range, large-cabin business jets.

PrivatAir’s Paris Le Bourget FBO has completed ISO 9001-2000 quality certification. The executive aircraft handling operation, which trades under the name PrivatAir France, has been approved on the basis of the quality-management system it introduced in August using a model launched by PrivatAir at its Geneva base in 1998.

The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) has drawn up a list of security recommendations in a bid to ensure uniform standards at the continent’s FBOs. The recommendations are expected to be included in the association’s new code of practice for business aircraft ground handling when it is published later this year.

Lufthansa is ordering its own business jets to replace those supplied thus far by NetJets Europe (NJE) for Lufthansa’s Private Jet service. The German-based carrier claims the success of the service makes a sound business case for buying the aircraft.
