Avionics manufacturer Sandel Avionics (Booth No. 1417) announced here at Heli-Expo introduction of the MOD2, the new version of its SG102 AHRS, a solid-state, three-axis instrument.

The new unit includes a three-times faster initialization time (now one minute) over the MOD1 and adds selectable low-and high-speed Arinc 429 output, allowing additional interface options with radar systems, satellite communicator antennas and other avionics.

Hilton Software’s WingX Pro7 flight planning and navigation app now works with Dac International’s GDC64 aircraft data interface device. The GDC64, certified for use on Part 25 aircraft, can deliver to WingX Pro7 navigation, aircraft and air data information that is available on the aircraft’s Arinc 429 databus. The GDC64 has won EASA approval for installation in the Bombardier Learjet 60 and Dash 8.

NBAA has added six courses to its professional development program (PDP). The new offerings in the program’s educational lineup satisfy specific module requirements in the association’s certified aircraft manager program and can be completed in three different ways, according to Jay Evans, NBAA’s director of operations.

The ISO 9000 series of standards represents an international consensus on quality-management practices with the objective of ensuring that a company can “consistently achieve customer and regulatory quality requirements,” EJM said.

By next summer, a corporate flight department, probably one based in Europe, will become the first recipient of a certificate confirming that it fully meets the international standards for business aircraft operations (IS-BAO).

Private Canadian operators of turbine-powered aircraft are experiencing a reduction in individual certification delays, the result of a Transport Canada agreement with the Canadian Business Aviation Association (CBAA), announced association president and CEO Rich Gage at the 42nd annual CBAA convention in Toronto. Gage described the association’s private operator certificate (POC) program as an “exceptional success.”
