Bombardier announced yesterday that it will be doubling its fleet of customer response team (CRT) trucks with a planned total of 14 trucks in operation by the end of the year.

Honeywell TPE331 engines can now be covered with a lifetime workmanship warranty on contracted maintenance services performed at a StandardAero facility. The program offers a warranty on maintenance performed by StandardAero, protecting against defects in workmanship as long as the engines are serviced by StandardAero. The program is offered at no additional cost and is transferrable to future owners/operators.

Rusada has signed an agreement with Aircraft Maintenance Services Australia for the implementation of the Envision MRO material modules across all of its line maintenance bases in Australia. The company’s Envision software is Camo-compliant, providing key management information and operational process control for operators, original equipment manufacturers, maintenance and repair organizations and service organizations.

Indra Navia ILS system

Nav Canada is nearing completion of a nationwide instrument landing system (ILS) replacement program designed to replace legacy systems and provide precision approach capability at new locations. On June 17, the Canadian air navigation service provider (ANSP) announced that it has placed an order with Indra Navia of Norway for the program’s final phase.

Applied Composites Engineering (ACE) is offering a two-year transferable warranty on all overhauled or repaired radomes for airliners and business jets. The two-year Platinum warranty will be included as part of a fully overhauled radome repair. The two-year Gold warranty will be included as part of a damage-specific radome repair. Both levels will transfer to the new owner in the event of an aircraft sale during the warranty period, and both include one transmissivity test during the warranty period at no cost.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration recommended that Boeing address four “issues” related to manufacturing and supplier quality in a new report released on March 19. The report details the results of a joint review of the Boeing 787’s design manufacturing and assembly processes ordered after the January 2013 lithium battery fire aboard a Dreamliner parked at Boston Logan Airport. The review team also made recommendations for improved, “risk-based” FAA oversight to account for new business models.
