The company has been making bearings, helicopter transmission systems, rotorhead assemblies, turbine engine components, gears and other precision flight-critical components for commercial and military helicopter manufacturers for as long as helicopters have been flying, practically. It has only been in the last eight years, however, that Timken (Booth No. N4836) has been able to provide aftermarket services to the aviation market, according to Larry Shiembob, director, aerospace aftermarket.
AGUSTA A109E, DALLAS, TEXAS, SEPT. 3, 2003–The Agusta twin-engine helicopter (N143CF) was substantially damaged at approximately 7:50 p.m. CDT during an aborted takeoff from the Methodist Dallas Medical Center helipad. The commercial pilot received minor injuries and the flight paramedic and flight nurse were uninjured.
