The Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) has retained the services of Alexandria, Va.-based management firm Potomac Management Resources (PMR) to provide day-to-day administrative and management assistance. PAMA recently ended its affiliation with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

The July 2005 affiliation of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) was intended to help PAMA provide more services to its members, but that venture is now over.

The Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) met some resistance when, in July 2005, it became an affiliate of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), but nearly three years on, time has shown the wisdom of the move. SAE brought large-association stability–and management expertise–to the table.

The Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) has announced a new format for its annual meeting and aviation maintenance conference. In addition to hosting its traditional chili cook-off, PAMA aviation maintenance olympics and awards banquet, the association will include an enhanced technical program in its meeting.

“This is our first show since the SAE [Society of Automotive Engineers] alliance and I think it’s going well. It’s good exposure for both SAE and PAMA; I expect to see our alliance continue to grow,” Dave Orcutt, PAMA chairman and v-p of customer support for Bombardier Business Aircraft, told AIN. “We’ve seen a lot activity on the floor, and the PAMA Olympics is going really well.”
