Reno-based FBO and charter operator Jet West took over the former Air Trails FBO at Salinas Municipal Airport in central California last year and remodeled the entire facility. Jet West Salinas held a grand opening on March 1. Salinas is a convenient alternate airport when the Monterey peninsula is fogged in, said Jet West general manager Ryan Gauger.

Former employees of Jet Republic complain of being betrayed and misled in the sudden collapse of the European would-be fractional ownership company. Speaking to AIN on condition of anonymity, the staff has claimed that the company breached its contractual obligations by failing to give formal notification that they were being laid off, so preventing them from claiming unemployment benefits in their countries.

Salinas Municipal Airport in central California has finished upgrades that include new offices, a conference room and modernized common areas. Other airport projects still under way include reconfiguration of the transient parking ramp, installation of a new beacon and a new taxiway to the upcoming Salinas Jet Center, which is being developed by FBO Central Coast Aviation.

Central Coast Aviation announced plans to build an FBO facility, to be called Salinas Jet Center, at Salinas Municipal Airport near California’s Monterey Peninsula. Groundbreaking is scheduled to take place next year, and the Jet Center will include more than 100,000 sq ft of hangar space, 40,000 sq ft of office space, a hotel, restaurant and conference center.
