Sheltair inaugurated its latest facility–at Northwest Florida Beaches Airport–last month. The aviation services provider had operated from a temporary trailer at the airport for the past year. The new 5,000-sq-ft executive terminal, built to LEED environmental certification standards, provides an airy nautical-themed passenger lobby, a conference room, a pilot’s lounge with shower, and a flight-planning area.

Sheltair recently completed the expansion of its FBO ramp at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. The addition increases the available parking area by 100,000 sq ft, bringing the total to 230,000 sq ft. The ramp expansion is part of a new terminal development project that includes a 5,000-sq-ft executive facility, a 9,100-sq-ft hangar and nearly 1,700 sq ft of additional office space.

The Holland Sheltair Aviation Group, which operates 13 FBOs in Florida, New York and Georgia, announced that it has combined its aviation services segment, along with Sheltair Aviation Facilities, its property leasing unit and Holland Builders, its facility construction business, into one new brand, now known simply as Sheltair.

SheltAir began the expansion of its Panama City, Fla. FBO facility. Slated for completion this year, the upgraded FBO, the only one located at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, will include a 5,000-sq-ft executive terminal, more than five acres of ramp, 9,100 sq ft of hangar space and additional office space.

SheltAir Aviation Services held a groundbreaking ceremony December 17 for its new FBO facility at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, the new airport that replaced the Panama City-Bay County facility last year. SheltAir is the sole FBO at the new airport and is building a 5,000-sq-ft FBO terminal and a 9,100-sq-ft hangar.

The Hiller Group-Chevron network has added seven more SheltAir Aviation Services FBOs to its portfolio. Including these locations, the Hiller Group will now supply fuel to 10 SheltAir facilities in the U.S. The recently added SheltAir FBOs are located at Daytona Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Panama City, St. Petersburg-Clearwater and Jacksonville, Fla.; La Guardia, New York; and Savannah, Ga.

A NASA Earth science field experiment is being conducted from a temporary base at SheltAir’s FBO facility at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood (Fla.) International Airport. The FBO is assisting the Grip (for genesis and rapid intensification processes) experiment during the peak of South Florida’s hurricane season.

After years of wrangling, SheltAir Aviation Services has opened its new FBO at Francis S. Gabreski Airport (FOK) in Westhampton Beach, N.Y. Part of the Holland Sheltair Aviation Group, which operates 13 facilities in New York, Florida and Georgia, the company has been at Gabreski since it acquired the FBO from the Long Island Jet Center in 2006.
